Surf continues to do construction on both the East and West fields. This constitutes both environmental and code violations. The City says the lease allows certain developments to the property, however these are over and above anything allowed by the lease or zoning and municipal codes. We believe the continued development is not authorized. Meanwhile, Surf continues to resist completing the restoration of the Coast to Crest Trail, which was a requirement in their lease. The new “improvements,” pictured below, are permanent structures added at the North and South ends of the midfield ramp, where Surf puts their retail and food sales tents. Commercial sales are also prohibited by the grant deed.
